Description:

Setmelanotide is a melanocortin 4 receptor (MC4R) agonist, which acts on human and rat melanocortin 4 receptor. The mechanism of setmelaninide activating MC4R may be different from that of natural ligand and first generation synthetic agonist. Setmelanotide may play a role by antagonizing neurotransmitters that exist naturally and inhibit MC4R activation.
